Following the tremendous success of last year’s celebration of 25 year of the Festival of Trees, the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is pleased to bring the community together once again to celebrate the 26th Annual Festival of Trees – the next 25 years, starting with this year’s theme “Home for the Holidays”. On November 22nd, Festival of Trees will open its doors at the Civic Centre once again. This annual event helps to raise funds for important diagnostic and treatment equipment for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
Over the past 25 years, over $8 Million has been raised through this iconic event that embraces the region and showcases amazing collaboration of volunteers, sponsors and supporters, and our esteemed Festival of Trees Committee, who make sure every year is better than the last, and this year will be no exception.
Local favorites will be returning, such as the Fashion Show on Nov. 23rd, Santa Breakfast on Nov. 24th, Teddy Bear Breakfast on December 1st, and of course the Community Kick Off is a fun filled day of activities the whole family can enjoy is also returning on Sunday, November 24th, with the civic light up at dusk.
Seniors that are wishing to attend can look forward to the Seniors Luncheon on Nov. 25th or the Senior’s Tea November 28th. Both events are signature events and are selling out quickly!
Of course there are many other new and returning events and a variety of times available for public viewing of the incredible big trees, little trees, wreaths and little houses that are all available for silent bidding. There‘s something for everyone including a gift shoppe that will delight everyone who is looking for that “something special” gift and a children’s area for creative little ones. “The Festival of Trees is a tradition in the community.” Said Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation. “It’s about volunteerism, collaboration, creativity, good times with friends and family, and celebrating the festive season --- all while supporting healthcare in the North – right here at home, where we live, work and play”. “We are so grateful to the community and region for supporting this event – this year will be another outstanding year for sure.”
